I am currently a MIAD Student, with an Illustration Major and a Digital Media Production Minor. I predominantly work in Digital Illustration, Concept Art and Design.

My name is Mel Beeler, and I am a digital illustrator from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I studied with Illustration Major and Digital Media Production Minor at Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, and landed on the Dean's list three times in a row, receiving a The Bachelor of Fine Arts in May of 2024. I typically work in freelance illustration, and usually work with individuals one-on-one. I primarily do digital illustrations, concept art, and design. I love working with color and character design, finding value and shapes to best fit the personality of the piece and character. My early exposure to children’s books, comics, cartoons and animated movies shaped how I work professionally and personally. The expressive nature of the medium has allowed me to express myself and my stories in ways that I was never able to verbalize as an [undiagnosed] autistic child, and so I hold this profession and my work close to my heart. Beyond my visual arts, I love to explore the world of written word, as well as musical expression, having previously been in the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra. My life, since the beginning, has been surrounded by the arts and expression beyond the spoken word, and as such these mediums hold immense value to me. As you explore, and carry on, I hope that you can experience these values with me, if only for a small while.
